Screencasting Jing

Taking screenshot images or video recordings of your screen is a fantastic way to communicate to clients, virtual assistants, or potential customers. It is an effective way to relay messages through images or videos as not all things could be understood simply by emailing or talking over Skype. Although you can take screenshot images without installing a computer program, your default computer programs would not allow you to take videos of your screen. A screen capturing software many have been using is Jing.

Jing is a screen application which you need to download and install to your computer. It is by Techsmith Corporation and is a free program and that is one of the reasons that makes it great. With Jing, you can save captured images and videos on your computer. You can also save your screencasts on Screencast.com, however, you have a storage limit of 2 GB and 2 GB of bandwidth transfer per month. Maximum length for videos is 5 minutes. Not bad for a free software.

Jing used to offer Jing Pro, a paid version that has a storage limit of 25 GB. However, according to TechSmith, Jing Pro retirement is due to the newest version of Snagit, a screencasting software which allows longer video recordings. But no worries, the free version of Jing is still available and it’s not going anywhere.

Do you need a screencasting program? You can download Jing here.

I made a guide on how to use Jing which you can see below. Hope this helps.
